Everyone Loves a good Proposal

You’re ready to ask the big question…

The moment you’ve been planning (and overthinking) is finally here. You have looked and thought about the perfect proposal. But before you book a hot air balloon or start sourcing rose petals by the truckload, I want to offer a little reminder:

It doesn’t have to be a spectacle to be special.

In fact, some of the most meaningful, heart melting proposals we’ve photographed have been the simplest. No props, no crowd, no pressure. Just two people, one beautiful moment, and a whole lot of love.

You don’t need fireworks or a 20 step plan. You don’t even need a “perfect” setup. The only thing that matters is that the moment feels true to you.

The best proposals can be the ones that are simply heartfelt. A quiet walk through a blooming orchard, a hidden ring, and a moment of pure, unscripted joy is sometimes all you need.

We’ve captured plenty of stunning, high-production moments and loved every one. But the most powerful ones aren’t always polished for the algorithm. They’re the moments that make your heart race, your hands shake, and your palms sweat. So if your perfect proposal means being present in a meaningful place, with no pressure and all the emotion, that’s more than enough. That might be everything.

On the other hand, if your dream involves a string quartet, a candlelit pathway, and an aerial drone capturing the moment from above, that’s certainly amazing as well. Whatever your vision looks like!

Sweet + Simple Proposal Ideas That Still Feel Like a Dream

  • Pick a spot that means something to you. Where you had your first date, a cozy hiking trail you both love, or even your living room with fairy lights if it’s your place, it’s perfect.
  • Speak from the heart. You don’t need a perfect speech. Just say what you feel. It can be quiet, a little nervous, maybe even messy but that’s what makes it real and beautiful.
  • Make it about the moment, not the setting. Sure, a gorgeous backdrop is nice, but what really matters is that look on your face when you realize what’s happening, or the way they take a deep breath before asking.
  • Let go of perfection. Proposals don’t always go “according to plan” and that’s okay. A little unexpected twist just adds to the story you’ll tell forever.
  • Sneak in a photographer (if you want to). If you’d love to remember every second, consider having someone capture it from a distance. Those raw, in the moment photos? Total heart-melters.

Need a Little Help Figuring Out the How?

Hey, I get it, proposing can feel like a lot. You want it to be meaningful, memorable, and something they’ll talk about for years… no pressure, right?

But here’s the truth: it doesn’t have to be complicated to be unforgettable.

If you’re feeling stuck, try thinking about what matters most to them. Do they love nature? Privacy? Sentimental spots? Start there. You don’t need a script, just speak from the heart. Say what they mean to you, what this moment means, and why you can’t wait to spend forever with them.

It’s okay to be nervous. That’s actually kind of sweet. What matters is that it’s real, not rehearsed.

And hey, if planning details isn’t really your thing, that’s what we’re here for. Whether you want help picking the perfect location or figuring out when to drop to one knee, I’ve got your back.

You’re already doing great, the fact that you care this much means more than you know.

These Photos Will Mean the World Someday

Years from now, when you’re looking back at this moment, you won’t be thinking about whether there were twinkle lights or a massive MARRY ME sign. What you’ll remember is how it felt. The nerves. The excitement. The way your soon to be fiancé said yes with zero hesitation.

Because in the end, the most important thing is that your proposal feels authentic to you. Your love is one of a kind, and your proposal should reflect that. Keep it simple, keep it real, and let your heart lead the way.
